A vision, values and high-impact action
Beldefi focuses its work on fundamental needs: protecting orphans, access to water, food, healthcare and education.
Born in 2018 from a very concrete act.
Beldefi is a Belgian humanitarian association founded in 2018, when the team decided to take into its care more than a hundred orphans left to fend for themselves in extreme hardship in Goma, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The aim: to give them protection, support and better prospects for the future.
Since then, we have greatly broadened our impact. Today Beldefi works in Goma (DR Congo), Chad and Sudan on fundamental needs: caring for hundreds of orphans, bringing drinking water to communities that survive with no access to water at all, food aid for people in distress, healthcare and access to education. We make sure that no one is left behind, and that everyone can help build a better future.
Donate
Our impact in numbers.
Preserving life today, building self-reliance for tomorrow.
We respond to emergencies and essential needs, while developing lasting solutions that help communities gradually become self-reliant. For every project that calls for technical expertise — a well, a school — Beldefi works with qualified professionals: engineers, architects and technical specialists.
Transparency
Ensuring every donation is used clearly and responsibly.
Dignity
Respecting every human being and their fundamental rights.
Accountability
Working with skilled professionals behind every one of our actions.
How does Beldefi make a difference?
A weekly assessment of needs
Every week, with our partners and colleagues on the ground, we assess the most urgent needs and take action.
Self-reliance as the goal
We step in wherever there is an emergency, with the aim of preserving life, but our vision will always be to support these communities on the path to self-reliance.
Your donations always reach their destination
Complete transparency, consistently high ethical standards, respect for everyone: we make sure that every donation is used for the project it funds, and in the best possible way.
We don’t realise how much our donations matter — they save lives.— A Beldefi volunteer, back from Chad.
